i feel like nothing as good as this stuff is on tv for kids these days. and i'm sure the comments section will feature at least one or two people telling me i'm wrong, and proving me wrong, and that's fine. i don't have a child to monitor so i don't have as much exposure as one might. but i'm just sayin', i still watch cartoons. and the new teenage dora the explorer and those bratz doll hookers can't be doing for today's little kiddies what i KNOW the teenage mutant ninja turtles did for me.
i have, too, been playing with fifty-two cards. just 'cause i play so far from my vest... whatever i've got i've got no reason to guard. what could i do but spin my best?

saturday morning bliss
my wbw this week stars the cartoons of my childhood. fraggle rock (i cannot hear those words together without screaming DOWN AT FRAGGLE ROCK!!! in my head), garfield and friends, pee-wee's playhouse, jem (omg she's totally outrageous), and more. and when i think back, i'm pretty sure i'd still be entertained by all these shows today. especially pee-wee... a friend of mine and i tried to reinstate the "word of the day" a few years back. remember? the robot would print out the word of the day and every time someone said it, everyone would scream? it was SO much fun when i was kid, and pretty effing fun as an adult, too.

dance your cares away
worry's for another day
let the music play...
*sigh* the flutterbugs appeared far too frequently in my dreams as a child (when i say child i mean now, and when i say dreams i mean my sock drawer)
I was just reminiscing the other day about, when I was in 2nd grade or so, coming home from school, sitting in my dad's recliner with a NutraGrain Bar, and watching the Super Mario Brothers' Super Show. Timeless...
Agh! Love this! Yes-Fraggle Rock was OUT.STANDING. To this day, I sometimes think people look like Fraggles. I realize that's mean, but there's no other description sometimes.. Whatever. I agree that there doesnt seem to be anything good on for kids anymore!
i liked 'under the umbrella tree'...that was my favorite.
loveyou

oh my gosh, matt and i were just talking about fraggle rock this weekend. we were watching tv with my niece, who was deeply engaged with zac and cody or hannah montana or something of such quality. matt was saying how impressionable a six-year-old is and commenting that maybe said little niece should not be watching stuff about boyfriends and boy craziness, etc, which somehow detoured to his love of fraggle rock.
as someone who still enjoys children's tv as an adult, i will give you one tip: watch the backyardigans. a-maz-ing. and i'm glad you gave jem a shout out. love her.
Holy effing Under the Umbrella Tree! I haven't thought about that show in forever...forever....forever (Sandlot style.) Also, I have to give a shout out to Eureka's Castle.
Heroes in a half shell! TURTLE POWER!
Holy Monkey, Mike...Eureka's castle!!! that was one of my favourites...I still have a bath toy Magellan, whom I still love. And i'm pretty sure eureka's castle is where my love of bats started...wasn't his name actually 'batty'...i can still remember his strings. good call mike.

I would literally punch a small child to get my hands on a Magellan bath toy. I am so jealous. For the record, his name was "Batly." (I only know that because Melissa's post has ultimately caused me to search for episodes on the internet.)
